Abstract

We characterize free products admitting a faithful and highly transitive action. In particular, we show that the group ${PSL}_{2} (ℤ) ≃ (ℤ ∕ 2 ℤ) * (ℤ ∕ 3 ℤ)$ admits a faithful and highly transitive action on a countable set.
