On the spectral analysis of bounded functions

Paul Jacob Koosis

Vol. 16 (1966), No. 1, 121–128
Abstract

The spectral analysis of functions f L(−∞,), and the different possible ways of looking at it, are discussed. A method is given for constructing functions f L(−∞,) having the property that 0 is in the spectrum of f, but 1 is not the weak limit of any sequence of linear combinations of translates of f.
