The class of (p, q)-biharmonic functions

Leo Sario and Cecilia Wang

Vol. 41 (1972), No. 3, 799–808
Abstract

Our main interest in this paper is with the (p,q)-biharmonic boundary value problem, which takes the following form: Given continuous functions ϕ and Ψ on Wiener’s or Royden’s p-and q-harmonic boundaries α and β respectively, find a function u satisfying (Δ + q)(Δ + p)u = 0 and

u|α = φ,u|β = Ψ.

We shall solve this problem by what we call the (p,q)-biharmonic projection.
