On a certain problem of realization in homotopy theory

Abstract

In this paper it is shown that given any group π and any subgroup G of the centre of π there exists a 0-connected CW-Complex X with π₁(X)≅π under an isomorphism carrying the Gottlieb subgroup G₁(X) of π₁(X) onto G.
