Sets of p-spectral synthesis

Abstract

Let G be a Hausdorff locally compact Abelian group, Γ its character group. Certain closed subsets of Γ are introduced, these being closely related to sets of spectral synthesis for L¹(G)^∧. Some properties and examples of these sets are discussed, and then a Malliavin-type result is obtained.
