A spectral containment theorem analogous to the semigroup theory result e(A) σ(etA)

D. M. Terlinden

Vol. 101 (1982), No. 2, 493–501
Abstract

It is known that if A generates a (C0) semigroup (etA), then e(A) σ(etA), where σ denotes “spectrum.” This result is generalized to the context of solution operators of certain n-th order linear differential equations.
