Quotients of nest algebras with trivial commutator

Abstract

The main result of this paper is to show that every operator T commuting with a nest algebra modulo a two-sided ideal 𝒥 of ℒ(H) is of the form T = λI + J for some λ ∈ C, J ∈𝒥 .
