Smith equivalence for finite abelian groups

Abstract

For certain even order cyclic and some non-cyclic abelian groups G we construct smooth actions on homotopy spheres Σ with exactly two fixed points, Σ^G = {p,q}, such that the tangential representations T_pΣ and T_qΣ are not isomorphic.
